East Canyon Creek Trailhead Sustainable Restroom
Archiplex Group designed the East Canyon Creek Trailhead Sustainable Restroom for the Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District. The scope of work includes an approximately 300 sf insulated restroom building with both men’s and women’s ADA accessible single occupant restrooms and a storage closet. The District’s intent is to make the facility energy efficient utilizing passive lighting and heating strategies as well as future PV with the objective of reducing or eliminating the operating costs of lighting, heating, and ventilating. The scope of work included providing an analysis that compares the cost of a 100% solar facility to that of a facility connected to the electrical grid. The scope of work includes provision of sewer and water connections which required new piping. The facility takes advantage of native landscaping so that no irrigation will be required.
