Having obtained a vacant property within an established neighborhood in the Park Meadows neighborhood of Park City, our client came to Archiplex Group looking for a design that would fit in well with its mountain style neighbors but clearly have a contemporary aesthetic. Utilizing classic stone, wood, and metal materials applied in a unique modern way to traditional building forms the owner’s desires were met.
The empty-nesters needed a floor plan that could function well for just two people but also allow for out-of-town visitors to stay. The home was designed to allow the owners to ‘age in place.’ The three upstairs suites are controlled with separate heating/cooling systems to allow them to be shut off the majority of the time when the spaces are not in use. Deep eaves and a L-shaped building form create protection from the elements and a back patio that can be used year-round. Low-maintenance xeriscaping in the yard fits the needs of the Owners who are often away for weeks splitting their time between homes in Park City and California.
