The Sandy Parish of the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake had outgrown its temporary facilities that were originally built in 1974. The worship space seated only 350 and now can accommodate over 600. The limited space of the facility severely restricted special events including weddings and first communion.
New worship space and enhancements provide Parishioners with a church adequate to meet current and future needs while fulfilling the original founder’s master plan for a consolidated campus with a church, education center, parish center, youth center and rectory. Due to the input of parishioners and the work of volunteer committees, consensus was reached on a unique architectural design, with seating arranged to provide enhanced visibility, superior acoustics, and improved lighting and circulation to foster and facilitate more active participation in the liturgy.
This project was recognized as Intermountain Contractor’s Best Private Project under $5M for 2006.
