PRIVATE SCHOOL ADDITION

Archiplex Group was asked by a provate school to provide a design solution for expansion of their elementary school building. The project consists of the addition of 6 flexible-use classroom spaces that can serve children from Pre-K up through 5th grade. To facilitate the modern 21st Century way of the learning, the school desired the ability to utilize non-traditional spaces as learning areas and thus the circulation corridor was configured in a way to accommodate small-group break-out functions for a variety of new learning experiences.

By pairing classrooms in groups of two with a moveable partition between, the more “traditional” classrooms become flexible and modern learning areas that accommodate larger groups and various functions. The contemporary low-maintenance material palette used was intended to complement the existing building and provide a template for future building renovations.
