UDOT TIE FORK REST AREA

Archiplex Group, LLC was chosen by DFCM (Division of Facilities Construction and Management) and UDOT (Utah Department of Transportation) to undertake the design and engineering of a replacement rest stop along Highway 6 in Spanish Fork Canyon, Utah. This significant project, valued at $1.9 million, was made possible through federal funding, as part of the ongoing highway realignment work in the canyon.

The primary objective of the newly planned Tie Fork Rest Area and Visitor’s Center, spanning an area of 6,500 square feet, is to offer a convenient resting place and restroom facilities for the traveling public. In addition to these amenities, the center will serve as a valuable resource for both local and visiting tourists, providing them with information pertaining to local, state, and federal travel options, as well as historical insights.

To enhance the visitor’s experience, the rest area features interpretive display kiosks that showcase local attractions and points of interest. These displays will serve as informative guides, allowing travelers to delve into the area’s heritage and cultural significance. Furthermore, a Roundhouse picnic structure will provide a charming and functional space for visitors to enjoy their meals and soak in the picturesque surroundings of Tie Fork Rest Area.
