Archiplex Group was chosen to assist Salt Lake City and Siemens in designing a pump house building that is suitable for the location. The site is located in Liberty Park, a highly valued historical community amenity in Salt Lake City. The design had to be appropriate for the park setting, functional, and capable of generating public interest.
The solution for the new secondary irrigation pump house in Liberty Park, Salt Lake City, involves a green-walled building that seamlessly blends into the park surroundings. The building’s aesthetic appeal harmonizes with the natural environment. Furthermore, the incorporation of large windows allows visitors to view the pump equipment inside. This design element also presents an educational opportunity, as visitors can learn about Salt Lake City’s commitment to developing more cost-effective secondary irrigation water systems and promoting water conservation.
